Cruising & Event Guidelines
For the safety and general aesthetic of our club, the VicStreetScene Committee would like to advise that a set of rules/guidelines have been set for those who participate in our cruises and events - those organised officially through the club or by our members - officials, day cruises, mini meets, you name it!
The first and most important rule is that VicStreetScene will not tolerate any illegal activity at our meets. This includes burnouts, street racing and basically anything that the boys in blue might frown upon.
Secondly, we want our club to be a club that people feel safe to take part in. Any bullying or general bad attitudes towards other members is frowned upon - and if you feel that you may have a problem with someone that could be demonstrated at one of our events, we would kindly prefer it if you did not attend the event.
Be sure to grab one of our cruise maps and introduce yourself to other members so that you can join in to a greater extent, meet new people and keep up with what is happening on our events.
Whilst we do not want to be a tight management team here, these rules are here for the general good of you, us and the rest of the club - not to mention the people who own businesses where we may hold events (which range from nights out to actual cruise meet points.) So in saying this, if you are to break the rules that we have set out for you, you will be warned about it and asked not to reoffend. If you insist on breaking our rules, you will then be asked not to attend or partake in any of the events held by our club - and you may even be banned from viewing our forums.
Any burnouts, street racing and general rowdyness whilst out on the streets is something that VSS, the members of the general public and most importantly the police believe is dangerous. We will have no dramas in forwarding your details to the police if you insist on doing so.
Let it be a precedent that in VicStreetScene's Summer Cruisin' event held in February 2009 the repurcussions for 7 cruisers was not what they would have expected. Misbehaviour lead to a collection of photos being passed on to Victoria Police and as a result 7 vehicles were impounded and the owners prosecuted. The VicStreetScene Committee has no issue with following this path with future events if it means we as a club and a community are drawing closer to removing ourselves from the hoon culture that has us frowned upon by society.
I hope we can all adhere to these rules, move forward in our club and enjoy the good times we have to come. If you have any dramas, concerns or would like to let us know of anything that is happening against our guidelines, please do not hesitate to contact one of the moderators or administrators, and we will be sure to sort the situation out.
Thank you for reading.
